Swiper Keeps Swiping
When little kids learn to walk and talk, it’s natural. Growing up is a natural instinct that a
person cannot stop. But when a fox’s natural instinct is to swipe objects, the
whole world blames him. Swiping is part of my name. It’s my nature. Nobody
stops a child from growing, but people stop me from swiping. It’s simply
unfair.
Everything I do is in the best interest of Dora. A little girl travelling all over the world can run into danger.
I don’t want her getting into any trouble, so I swipe the objects. I can’t always manage to take the object. When I was a young fox, I was cursed by a witch. I have to stop swiping if someone repeats the phrase “Swiper no swiping” three times. If Dora can repeat the phrase, she is able to continue on
her perilous journey. I am worried about her.
It’s not necessarily easy being a fox who swipes items. No one
ever considers my feelings. I can’t even speak Spanish, and Dora is very
insensitive about it. She always talks in Spanish around me. It’s like a slap in
the face. I would love to learn Spanish, but she never even offers to help.
I will admit it. Sometimes I don’t know exactly what I’m
swiping. All I know is that Dora needs it to continue her dangerous journeys.
But if I take something truly special, I will return it without question. I
don’t mean to cause anyone grief or pain.
I am very considerate when I begin my swiping. Every single
time, I make noises of rustling leaves. I could easy creep in and steal the
object without notice. I am a fox. I can be sly and sneaky, but I have common
courtesy. I let Dora and her
friends know I am coming. I would never sneak up and scare them.
On the other hand, Dora prances all through the wild without
caring. The wild is my home, but Dora prances through the wild without even
thinking about me. Most people wouldn’t be too happy is someone snuck into their
house, but I don’t have that luxury simply because I’m not a person. I am just a
fox.
Boots is another story. Boots is an animal, but Dora treats him
as her best friend. The same is true with Benny the bull and Tico the squirrel.
Dora is very nice and kind to those animals, but she cringes in fear when she
sees me. Everyone is scared when they see me. Little kids cry and animals shake
in fear the minute I appear on the screen. No one even bothered to give me a
chance. From the moment I arrived, everyone labeled me as a bad character. It’s
like being the new kid in school. You are automatically judged and labeled.
No one remembers when I acted caring and generous. One time,
Dora asked me to swipe trash, TRASH. Is that the only thing I am good for?
Swiping trash? Again, Dora never even bothered to consider my feelings. Since I
am a nice fox, I offered a hand, but all I got was a mere thank you. This was
nice, but the next day, Dora goes back to being terrified of me along with all
her friends. I don’t understand it.
That wasn’t the only time I helped Dora. There was this one time
where I carried a baby fox all day long. Dora couldn’t have done it without me.
Again, I only received a small thank you, but the next day, nothing had changed.
I was still the evil fox of the forest.
Maybe one day I can live in peace with all the animals in the forest. Maybe one day my
feelings will be considered, but that day isn’t today. I wish the world could
see the truth, that a fox like me isn’t doing any harm. I’m following my
instincts while trying to be a respectable
fox.
About This Story: The assignment was to take a villain and see the story through their eyes. It was a really fun assignment.
