55 Word Story
Her hands shook. Her heart pounded. Don’t chicken out¸ she thought. Her throat knotted. She was about to explode in tears or maybe laughter. I’d rather have a tooth pulled, she concluded. She took a deep breath and raised her hand. “I’ll go next,” she choked
out. Then she walked to the podium.
